I Did It is a dark comedy short film that follows a wronged husband and pompous theatre director who devises a madcap revenge scheme to punish the man who cheated on his wife. Written and directed by John Jewers, and starring Dan Owens, the film stands out for its rich visual storytelling and bold return to classic 16mm celluloid cinematography.
Shot entirely on 16mm film, I Did It pays homage to the golden age of filmmaking, reviving the grain, texture, and authenticity of vintage cinema. In an era dominated by digital technology, this project celebrates the artistry and craftsmanship of analogue film, capturing the spirit of classic film noir with a modern darkly comic twist.
As the Cinematographer, I focused on crafting a timeless, filmic aesthetic, using practical lighting and intentional framing to echo the dramatic mood and tension of traditional noir visuals.
I Did It is now available for public viewing.
